About

Hello, and welcome to Eating Healthy. I am your Eating Healthy Coach.

First, the legal requirements:

Mike Conroy, Sr., 18311 State Hwy. EE, Sedalia, Mo. 65301, (573)301-1394.

I am NOT licensed as a Dietitian or medical care practitioner in Missouri. I am a nutritional coach for ketogenic eating. And, I have been Keto/Carnivore to one degree or another for 15 years. I have lost 110 pounds, reversed my hypertension and other health issues, and feel great without hunger.

Nothing in my coaching is medical advice. I cannot diagnose, treat, prescribe, or assess, your conditions or lab work, etc. You are advised to obtain medical advice prior to starting any major lifestyle change, including your diet. This is especially true if you have been diagnosed with a condition for which you take medicine. Your medicine may need to be adjusted as early as day one of changing what you eat. This is especially true for Diabetes, Congestive Heart Failure, and High Blood Pressure. Please see your physician before starting this program.

If you do not have a doctor, or you wish to see a doctor who has specialized knowledge of a ketogenic diet, I have a list of keto friendly doctors.

With my Eating Healthy program, I help people like you do what I have already done, to find a healthy eating pattern for you. My coaching is based on two things, the new food pyramid, and Dr. Eric Westman, MD’s teaching from his clinic.

Dr. Westman has been teaching people what to eat for over 25 years at Duke University. His teachings have helped people lose weight, get healthier, and achieve their goals. These teachings are very much in line with the new USDA food guidelines and the new Food Pyramid.

I learned Eating Healthy from watching others and from eating healthy myself. I was diagnosed with pre-hypertension and pre-diabetes in the spring of 2010. My health care practitioners prescribed a diet for me to follow. It was a painful diet, specific foods, watching calories, not eating what I wanted to eat.

In the following year, they managed to get my weight from 246 pounds down to over 326 pounds (yes, I know, that is not “down”). I was a class III morbidly obese guy with a BMI over 51. Over the next 6 months, I managed to drop all the weight they had put on me over that year, plus a couple more pounds.

Satisfied with that, I began eating as I had before they put me on the diet. I maintained my weight through the next few years. But, as I worked longer and harder hours in a sedentary job, I got more out of shape. By the time I retired, I was sick and tired of being sick and tired.

By the latter half of 2024, I had to make a decision. I was 66 years old. Was I going to look forward to being sick and tired of being sick and tired for the next 10 years, and die a long, slow, and painful death? Or, was I going to buckle down and lose my excess fat, get into shape, and live a full and functional life for another, hopefully, 35 wonderful years? I chose the latter.

Today, I am down to 210 pounds, and losing. I am stronger, healthier, and more vibrant. I have added muscle (something some medical people have told me is not likely for someone my age), gotten more flexible, have better balance, have more endurance, have gotten off of all my medications, reversed my high blood pressure, eliminated my pre-diabetes and my constant allergies, gotten rid of my “age related” aches and pains, and feel like I am 30 again.

Eating Healthy has allowed me to achieve this goal, and will keep me on track to get to my next goals. I have walked the walk, been down that path, and experienced the pleasures of changing what I eat.

Now, I want to help others achieve their goals. The teachings I have from Dr. Westman, Amy Berger, and with the new Food Pyramid, I think others can benefit from my life. If you think you would like to investigate further, please either sign up for my courses here, or contact me. I will be happy to hear from you!
